Holliston Family Chiropractic offers care for children and adults in a compassionate, healing, environment.  The home office practice is located in a wooded setting on Mill Street in Holliston, MA.  Dr. Howard Goldberg has been in chiropractic practice in Massachusetts since 1983.  Dr. Goldberg uses state of the art gentle, low force, techniques suitable for babies to the elderly.  Recently certified in Postural Neurology, Dr. Goldberg is taking his practice to exciting new levels. We are now able to optimize brain and nervous system functions with brain-based postural correction and brain-based home rehabilitation.

Your spinal column holds the key to many of your health problems (as well as many of your health solutions).  For it is through your spinal column that your nerves pass as they branch out to all your cells, tissues, organs, glands, and other parts of your body.

The spinal column supports these nerves in an ingenious way – with a series of connected bones, called vertebrae, that protect the nerves while allowing your body the full freedom of movement.  However, when these vertebrae move out of their normal range of motion, health problems occur.

Spinal misalignments resulting from accidents or trauma, environmental toxins, or everyday stress, are called “vertebral subluxations”.  These vertebral subluxations subtly exert a pressure that slowly interferes with your nerves’ normal energy flow.  While subluxations can result in pain, quite often they do not, and, if left uncorrected over a period of time, they can disrupt your nervous system’s normal function of relaying vital nerve impulses to essential body parts.  To use an analogy:  it’s like a dimmer switch on a light fixture.  When the switch is turned, it interrupts the electrical cycle and causes the voltage to be reduced – making a 100 watt bulb act like a 60 watt bulb.

Think of your vital organs – your heart, kidneys, liver, gall bladder – as “light bulbs”.  As such, wouldn’t you want to be sure that they’re getting their proper flow of energy?  Well, that’s the basic function of a chiropractor – to adjust your “dimmer switch” and help restore your “100 watt bulbs” to their normal wattage.

Actually, irritated nerves caused by vertebral subluxations, can result in either decreased or increased bodily functions in whatever organs those nerves supply.  For instance, a sluggish liver or gall bladder indicates decreased activity, whereas an overactive stomach or rapid heartbeat indicates increased activity.  Through a series of chiropractic adjustments, spinal irregularities are corrected and the conditions caused by subluxation can be relieved, and even eliminated.

Chiropractors call the free, unimpeded flow of vital nerve impulses: “100% Life Energy”.  It is this life energy that miraculously created your body out of two microscopic cells; the very same innate intelligence that can also heal your body!

Chiropractic is here simply to give your own innate healing power a helping hand, by removing the interference.  This is the primary principle that has guided the art and science of chiropractic for an entire century and has helped millions of people attain better health and well being.

The posture system is the framework of our bodies; it is controlled by the brain. We require proper posture for optimum brain function and optimum brain function for proper posture.  Posture and health are declining in our society as technology and stress increase.  Because of sedentary lifestyle, over bombardment of visual stimulation due to technology devices, and flection-dominant posture, our overall health is declining at record speed.  Postural Neurology now allows us to test different parts of the brain affected by this phenomenon.  We correct imbalances in the brain with a combination of state-of-the-art chiropractic techniques, brain-based postural correction, and brain-based home rehabilitation.

Formerly a respiratory therapist specializing in pediatric and neonatal care, Dr. Goldberg has taken care of many children with a variety of health issues over the past 28 years.  Pediatric chiropractic care works very well for a number of health problems such as: chronic ear infections, asthma, digestive issues, scoliosis, headaches, ADD and ADHD, sports injuries, and neck and back pain.  Along with these, regular chiropractic care also ensures a strong and healthy immune system so that a child may resist the many physical, chemical, and emotional stresses in today’s world.  Children who are under regular chiropractic care are better able to reach their potential.

At Holliston Family Chiropractic, we also specialize in sports injuries of all kinds.  Dr. Goldberg uses applied kinesiology (muscle testing) as a key indicator, of where the problem is and how to correct it.  Chiropractic care enhances a person’s athletic potential by ensuring all muscles, joints, ligaments, and bones are in the right position and functioning as close to 100% as possible.  Sports injuries that are frequently helped with chiropractic care are:  neck, shoulder, arm and hand injuries, back, leg, knee, ankle, and foot injuries, including tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, chondromalcia patella, and plantar fascitis.

Many patients choose to use regular ongoing chiropractic care as one of their ingredients in a wellness lifestyle.  By receiving regular chiropractic care a person can ensure that whatever physical, chemical, or emotional stress they encounter in their lives their bodies will best be able to process that stress in a healthy way.  We offer wellness plans when appropriate to maintain optimal health over a lifetime.
